appeared in the game of Soho Amano who are called " Kisei "(meaning the Saint of Shogi ) and whose real power is 13 dan (Meijin's power is equal to 9dan) . Kakukawari requires both Black and White players careful move , because each of them has a Bishop in his hand . Careless move causes a opponet drop of bishop . Kakukawari is selected many professional Shogi player . Most famous players are Kouji Tanigawa , Tadahisa Maruyama . Chapter 1.
(ii) Other way of Kakukawari . ![]() If Black decides to play Kakukawari , he can select the one of two ways . First is , 1. P-7f P-8d 2. P-2f , and second is 1. P-2f P-8d 2. P-7f . Both is a same position , but according to White's move , different variations are appeared . In short , it is the case where White chooses 1 . . . P-3d . ( 1 . . . P-3d means that White declines the Black's Kakukawari and/or Yagura . ) In the first case , after 1. P-7f P-3d , there are many variations . See opneing moves index . In the second case , after 1. P-2f P-3d , Black can select 2. P-2e or 2. P-7f . The defference between 2. P-2e and 2. P-7f is as stating below. Black's move 2. P-2e enables White's Mukaibisha ( include Sakata - ryu) instead of making White 's Yokofutori impossible. The case of 2. P-7f is exactly reverse in the case of 2. P-2e . This line is modern Kakukawari opening . In the old type Kakukawari opening , Black's Rook's Pawn is moved at square 2e . Why the modern type is appeared . Because without P-2e , Black's right Knight can move to 2e square , and Black can move P-2e whenever he likes . Two othere Black's second move choices exist . First is 1. P-7f P-8d 2. G-7h Takada ryu ( Takada opening ) This is very interesting opening , in my opinion . Second is 1. P-7f P-8d 2. B-7g !? , but this line has a fault . Because White's need not move his Rook's Pawn at 8e square .
